Public service motivation research in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region: A systematic review of progress and implications for public administration theory and practice

The research on public service motivation (PSM) has seen a growing internationalization, necessitating efforts to organize and systematize its findings assess progress enhance the value of PSM theory in various contexts, including administration. This paper aims review Middle East North Africa (MENA) region over past decade. primary methodology employed is systematic literature review, where total 20 papers published between 2013 2020 were located analyzed. assessment these includes an examination their country origin, publication source, underlying theory, design, lines study. A critical evaluation conducted, focusing theoretical practical contributions scholarship. key conclusion drawn from this that while MENA advancing, it reveals certain methodological limitations underexplored themes need be addressed.
